City Creek, Food and Fun!

We decided to visit the new City Creek Mall downtown a couple of days ago. We had walked around a bit before it was open and saw some of the water features and were interested to see the rest. Although it was packed to the gills, we decided to give it a shot. I did tell Lyle as we left later that I definitely want to back when it's not so packed and take my time. I really want to visit Godiva Chocolates when there isn't a line just to walk in the door!

The really amazing thing about this mall is that in certain sections, during inclement weather, the glass roof will close so shoppers can still visit the shops!
Right when we got off the elevator, Ava was attracted to the "city creek" that has been diverted to run through the mall, and the fish!

For the Grand Opening, there were musicians performing every 100 feet or so (flutes, violins, bongo drums, snare drums, guitars, etc.) and "statues".

As we made our way to the fountains I wanted to see again, we stopped at Vans to buy Sean some new shoes since his currently let water in through the soles.  Definitely time for new shoes!

As we headed to the fountains, we heard Eclipse;  an awesome male acapella singing group!
They performed some amazing songs and even continued to sing while posing for pictures with fans!
The beatboxer was Sean's favorite and while Ava and Daddy rode the escalator a few times, Sean watched this guy in awe at the amazing sounds he made with his mouth.

The fountains!  This is the only part we had been able to view previously and I was in awe.  The water shoots out of a spout, then hits a inverted bell shape and the water produces this amazing jellyfish like shape.  When the breeze hits it...it looks like it's flying!  I could sit and watch it all day.  It's mesmerizing and actually quite relaxing.

After City Creek, we headed to TGIFriday's for dinner.  If you've never eaten there...DO!  It's divine.  The macaroni and cheese is super good and I love their California Club;  Lyle loves their Carribean Club. And the Captain Morgan's Rum sauce?  Heavenly!
We had received some discount tickets from Aubre and Christopher the day before to buy the Pass of all Passes for only $10 (normally $50/ea.)!  I was planning on getting them, but while at City Creek we got a call saying the coupons expired that night!  Yikes!  Luckily Trafalga was open until midnight, so after dinner, we ran back home to get the tickets and then drove back to the Lehi Traflaga to get the pass.  Then, we hung out with Aubre, Christopher, their kidlets and a neice and nephew until midnight!  Skeeball, bowling, Dance Dance Revolution and laser tag filled the night.  We cannot wait to get much use of these passes throughout the summer (we can visit so many different locations like both Trafalga locations, Seven Peaks, Orem Owlz, Rocky Mountain Raceways, etc.)!

It was a crazy, busy day and much longer than we had anticipated when we originally left the house...but what a great day!
