Two

Miss A is two years old today.  How did that happen!?  How in the WORLD did my baby girl grow up so fast!?  It's unfathomable.  We're partying later tonight, but for now...here are a few fun facts about Ava as she turns two.

  • Loves to say "thank you" and will continue to say it until you say "you're welcome" ("uh-huh", "yes", "sure", etc. just won't do).
  • Knows all of her basic colors (red, yellow, blue, black, pink, purple, orange and green).
  • Loves to stand at the top of the stairs and yell for "Ly-lol".
  • Addicted to the new Strawberry Shortcake.
  • Knows all the main Sesame Street characters (Elmo, Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, Telly, Oscar, Abby Cadaby, Cookie Monster).
  • Loves all starchy and carb-laden foods (potatoes, breads, pastas, etc.)
  • LOVES sugar;  she'll eat any type of goodie over fruits and veggies any day.
  • Repeats words until you repeat them back to her (i.e. "Mom, purple", "yeah", "Mom, purple", "uh-huh", "Mom purple", "yes, purple"...and done!)
  • Loves to ride the shopping cart at the store (sits under the handle with her feet on the bottom rack).
  • Will NOT leave her earrings in her ears now that she knows they can come out.  We've lost so many pairs of earrings.
  • LOVES her new flip-flops and refuses to wear any other shoes.
  • Calls her body wash "apple" because I told her once that it smelled like apples.  If I call it soap she gets mad at me until I call it apple.
  • Asks to sit on the potty every other day or so.  She'll sit there for a few minutes and then say "done", then wash her hands.
  • Asks to check the mail every morning with Daddy.
  • Continues to obssessively call Sean "Bobby"...although she knows his name is Sean.
  • When 8:00 rolls around she becomes totally lovey-dovey;  hugging Mom and Dad and saying, "Ohhhh, Mom (or Dad)...love you Mom (or Dad)".  I hope she doesn't grow out of that for a long time to come.
